Mission Trip Organizations
Being former Camp Counselors, Gary & Laurie are sold on the benefits of Camps, Retreats, and Mission Trips.
Whether you are looking to stay in your region, further out in North America or beyond, there are several quality organizations offering great experiences. And hey, those who attend a mission trip are far more likely to be involved in church five years later than those who do not. |
AND HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS---MISSION ORGANIZATIONS ARE MOVING TOWARDS FAMILY EXPERIENCES. Can You Say Intergenerational Faith Formation? Let's start within North America. Youthworks, Group and Appalacian Service Project offer excellent experiences somewhere near you. |
YouthWorks provides life-changing Christ-centered mission trips each summer for over 30,000 students and adult leaders in over 70 communities across North America. Because they want everyone to experience a mission trip, they provide lots of affordable options while maintaining high quality experiences. Offering trips for Junior High, Senior High, Mixed Groups, and Families, YouthWorks covers the spectrum of possibilities.
Two note worthy items are that YouthWorks: 1. There is a limit on the number of participants per trip. Usually between 50 and 75. You really get to know each other well and 2. If you can organize your Mission District, or coordinate with other congregations to fill the spots, YouthWorks will partner with you on programming and worship. Gary has been on several experiences with YouthWorks and has a strong connection with his main YouthWork's contact "Nate". |
Group leverages over 35 years of expertise to guarantee well-planned, stress-free mission trips. Their mission trips are designed to give you an opportunity to spend your time in ministry—not organizing the details! Their experience in mission trips helps them refine the process and eliminate the hassles of trip planning. Group Mission Trips takes care of the details so you can focus on what matters most: the spiritual growth of your students before, during, and after the trip. They offer Home Repair WorkCamps, Community Service Weeks of Hope, and International opportunities. Gary & Laurie's congregation has been on over 20 Group WorkCamp experiences. |
Repairing homes, transforming lives - ASP provides one of the most rewarding structured service opportunities in the nation — bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families. For 47 years, they’ve made homes “warmer, safer, and drier” for families and provided transformational service experiences for volunteers. Over 17,030 volunteers served with ASP each year. |
Commission Expeditions serves as a “bridge” between North American churches and missionaries on the field by…
serving churches - enabling members to experience missions firsthand, then come back to encourage their local church to become more actively involved in missions worldwide serving missionaries already on the field by encouraging supporters to be more involved in the ministry of the missionaries. |
